At Bomeric Horse Rescue, our mission is to provide a safe haven for horses in need—those who have been abused, neglected, abandoned, or are at risk of slaughter. Founded by Camille Garbe, who has been passionate about horses since the age of four, our rescue is dedicated to giving these animals a second chance at life.
Camille's journey began with a lifelong dream to help suffering horses. After leasing a suitable farm and navigating the challenges of the pandemic, she established Bomeric Horse Rescue. Camille personally cares for the horses, tending to them at least twice daily, with the support of a dedicated group of volunteers.
Many people are unaware of the harsh realities horses face in this country. Horses of all ages and conditions—young, old, healthy, sick, pregnant—often end up at auctions where they are purchased by kill buyers. These animals, regardless of their background or training, are at risk of being sent to slaughterhouses.
Beyond the slaughter pipeline, numerous horses suffer from abuse, neglect, and abandonment. Our goal is to offer these horses a place where they can heal and thrive. With a diverse Board of Directors, including professionals from various fields such as banking, game design, warehousing, and healthcare, we are united by a shared commitment to equine welfare.
We believe every horse deserves compassion and care. Through our efforts, we strive to raise awareness about the plight of these animals and work towards a future where every horse has a chance to live a safe and dignified life.
